Hi!

There are no pictures yet of my apartment.  I swear I will post them as soon as I have them.  Photographer Steven Bergman is coming in the next week or so to take them.   I can't wait for you to see the views from both inside and outside the apartment.  I truly feel that I am on a little perch looking out at the whole City.

My den has finally been completed.  It is cozy, with a bird's eye view of the East River.  It is where the computer is and is so peaceful and inviting.  I think having this space will allow me to attend to this page in a more timely manner! I still am trying to get to all of my emails (forgive me to those who haven't gotten a response yet!)...I have to clean out my MySpace page...and I have set up a FaceBook (friend me!)

The last time I wrote I was on my way to perform at the Goodwill Theatre in Johnson City, which is near Johnson City in upstate New York.  I had the best time!  First of all the Goodwill Theatre, is incredible.  Naima Kradjian, the manager has very ambitious plans for the theatre. I wonder how many communities in the country have someone like her who is hell bent on giving people, especially children, the experience of live theatre. The Schorr family, who support the theatre, also deserves praise for giving back to the community

There may be changes to this page too.  I am trying to see if it would be viable to have live chats, show videos etc.  I'd love all your ideas.  I also want to be able to answer your questions, too - posting both question and answer.  Please let me know what you'd like.

Many of you are writing to say you simply haven't seen me on the show much.  After a busy summer, I can't say I am not disappointed.  If I could have one Christmas wish, besides world peace, of course - it would be for a story line!   I really am beginning to feel that Lisa (and moi!) have become almost like a footstool, that just sits there until someone trips over it every once and awhile!

I love this show just like most of you.  And like most of you who write to me, I wish for the kinder, gentler Hughes years.  Remember? When the characters had problems everyone could relate to.  When events and circumstances mimicked real life, in real settings.  Didn't you feel in past years that the characters were your friends?  That you could rely on their steadfastness or kookiness or evilness.  You had a reason to be happy when they had a reason to be happy, sad when they were, fearful when you knew they were straying, mad when they were treating each other badly.  I don't know, I throw my hands up in the air and all I can implore you to do is write to P&G and CBS-TV.

Even though it was only yesterday I had thrown out the jack-o-lantern and have been trying to decide what to serve for Thanksgiving dinner, I have begun to think about Christmas.  It isn't hard, Bob Goldstone, my music director, came over today and we worked on the Christmas show.  I am so excited about Christmas this year!  I couldn't have a Christmas tree last year - there was no room, remember, so I put lights on one of the packing boxes!  This year I want to go all out.  We all need a little Christmas, don't you think?  I was thinking of getting a white tree and having one color lights and one color ornaments.  What do you think - too, too much?

Bob and I worked on the show quite a bit. We've added some new songs and I've got some new stories to tell.  It will be a lot of fun. I hope I will get to see you all there! It's gonna be fun.  On both evenings I will be hosting a reception afterward.  It is my favorite time as I get to spend some time with everyone.

I have been reading voraciously - and have exhausted my collection.  I am planning a trip to Borders soon.  And now that my computer is set up, Amazon is a click away.  What I need is suggestions - anybody read anything wonderful lately?  I love everything.  I am particularly hooked on classical French literature.

I know you don't believe that and it was a complete lie.  When I am not reading Soap Opera Weekly and Soaps in Depth and Soap Opera Digest and Soaps.com, I love anything by Anita Shreve, Nelson DeMille and James Patterson.  I'd love to hear what you are all reading.

I hope to see you all at the show - and in the meantime have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

All my love,
